Job Description
A leading restaurant in Wuse 2, Abuja is seeking a skilled and reliable Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations. The successful candidate will help manage kitchen staff, ensure high-quality food preparation, and maintain smooth kitchen operations.
What You Will Do
- Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and presenting dishes
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily kitchen operations
- Maintain food quality, hygiene, and safety standards
- Monitor inventory and assist with stock management
- Support menu development and recipe standardization
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
- Develop new dishes and seasonal menu items
- Ensure proper portioning and plating according to standards
- Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and cleanliness
- Collaborate with management to optimize kitchen workflow
Who You Are
- 5–6 years of professional experience in a reputable kitchen
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about food
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff
- Flexible and adaptable to changing menus and demands
- Culinary certificate/diploma preferred will be an advantage
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: ₦130,000 per month + ₦25,000 allowances (negotiable)
