Job Description

We are seeking a talented and committed Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will support the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, maintaining food quality, and supervising staff. This role requires culinary creativity, strong leadership, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and meal preparation

  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and productivity

  • Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant’s standards for taste, quality, and presentation

  • Manage inventory, ordering, and proper storage of ingredients and supplies

  • Enforce strict hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety protocols

  • Train, mentor, and evaluate junior kitchen staff

  • Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure timely and seamless service

  • Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness

  • Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and food cost control

  • Report kitchen performance updates and concerns to the Head Chef

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a restaurant or hospitality setting

  • OND, HND, or Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field (preferred)

  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills

  • Excellent culinary knowledge, including modern cooking techniques and food safety standards

  • Ability to perform under pressure and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment

  • Keen eye for detail and high standards of food presentation

  • Strong communication and time-management abilities

  • Professional demeanor and neat personal appearance

  • Must reside in Abuja (preferably close to or within Wuse 2)
