Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our hospitality team in Abuja immediately. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in pastry production, cake decoration, bread making, and dessert preparation, with a passion for creativity, quality, and presentation. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and decorate cakes using fondant, buttercream, whipped cream, ganache, and themed cake techniques.
- Prepare a variety of puff pastries, including croissants, pain au chocolat, Danish pastries, cinnamon rolls, and related products.
- Produce high-quality desserts such as cheesecakes, parfaits, mousse, tiramisu, brownies, waffles, and pancakes.
- Manage daily production of pastries and baked treats.
- Prepare a range of breads, including soft bread, artisan bread, burger buns, sandwich loaves, and dinner rolls.
- Produce cookies, small chops, and other bakery items.
- Develop new recipes and innovative product offerings.
- Ensure attractive presentation and consistent product quality.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and customer demands.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role.
- Strong cake decoration skills, including fondant, buttercream, whipped cream, and ganache work.
- Hands-on experience in puff pastry production and bread making.
- Expertise in preparing a wide range of desserts and baked goods.
- Knowledge of chocolate work and dessert plating is an added advantage.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop new recipes and presentations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining hygiene and food safety standards.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and excellent teamwork skills.
