Job Description

A growing restaurant in Abuja is seeking an experienced and skilled Griller to join the team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality grilled fish, chicken, turkey, goat meat, and other barbecue items while maintaining excellent taste, consistency, and hygiene standards.

The successful candidate must be experienced in grilling techniques, marinades, and seasoning, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and deliver orders promptly during peak periods.

What You Will Do

Prepare and grill fish, chicken, turkey, goat meat, catfish, croaker, tilapia, and barbecue items
Apply marinades, seasoning, sauces, and spice blends for consistent flavour
Operate charcoal grills, gas grills, and smokeless grills efficiently
Monitor proper food temperature and ensure safe cooking standards
Prepare grilled platters and customer-specific orders accurately
Produce peppered and local grilled delicacies as required
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and kitchen safety standards
Ensure proper timing and coordination during busy service hours
Assist in managing grill inventory and ingredients
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
Maintain and properly handle grilling equipment

Who You Are

Experienced Griller with strong knowledge of grilling techniques and food preparation
Skilled in handling different types of meat and seafood for grilling
Knowledgeable in marinades, seasoning, sauces, and flavour development
Ability to operate various grilling equipment safely and efficiently
Strong understanding of food hygiene and sanitation standards
Fast, neat, and organized while working under pressure
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Passionate about grilled food and culinary excellence

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Griller in a restaurant, grill house, or food service environment is preferred
Knowledge of local grilled dishes and peppered recipes is an added advantage
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
