Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Professional Grill Chef to join our hospitality team in Abuja. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality grilled meats and seafood while ensuring excellent taste, consistency, and presentation. This role requires strong grilling expertise, speed, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grill a variety of proteins including fish, chicken, turkey, catfish, croaker, tilapia, goat meat, and barbecue items.
  • Prepare marinades, seasoning blends, sauces, and grilling mixtures for different menu items.
  • Operate charcoal grills, gas grills, and smokeless grills safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure proper cooking temperatures and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Prepare grilled platters and customer orders consistently and to specification.
  • Handle peppered and local grilled delicacies where required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill station at all times.
  • Work efficiently under pressure during peak hours and busy service periods.
  • Manage grilling timing to ensure prompt order delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Professional Grill Chef, Chef Griller, or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Strong knowledge of grilling techniques and heat control.
  • Experience in handling different types of grills and cooking equipment.
  • Good understanding of food hygiene, safety, and temperature standards.
  • Ability to work quickly, neatly, and accurately under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in food preparation.
  • Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
