Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Chef to manage kitchen operations in Guzape, Abuja. The ideal candidate must be proficient in both continental and local Nigerian cuisine, with strong leadership ability to manage kitchen staff, maintain high food standards, and ensure efficient and profitable kitchen operations. This role requires creativity, discipline, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Prepare, supervise, and coordinate the preparation of both continental and local dishes.
  • Plan, design, and update menus to ensure variety, creativity, and profitability.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, taste, portion size, and presentation across all dishes.
  • Maintain strict portion control and food cost efficiency to meet budget targets and reduce waste.
  • Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards.
  • Monitor inventory, manage stock levels, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
  • Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Coordinate kitchen workflow during peak hours to ensure timely order delivery.
  • Conduct quality checks on all dishes before service.
  • Implement cost-effective kitchen practices without compromising quality.
  • Work closely with management to improve menu performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Lead Chef, Head Chef, or Sous Chef in a restaurant or hotel.
  • Strong knowledge of continental and Nigerian local cuisine.
  • Excellent leadership, supervision, and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of menu planning, portion control, and food cost management.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, consistency, and food presentation.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Creativity in recipe development and menu innovation.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
