Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Manager to oversee the organization’s HR operations and support the development of a high-performing workforce. The successful candidate will be responsible for talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, staff development, HR policies, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with business objectives.
- Manage the full recruitment and selection process, including interviews, onboarding, and employee orientation.
- Develop and maintain effective employee performance management systems.
- Manage employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary matters professionally.
- Develop staff training, learning, and career development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
- Monitor attendance, leave, payroll inputs, and other employee-related processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian labour laws and company policies.
- Advise management on HR matters, workforce planning, compensation, and employee engagement.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and initiatives that improve employee retention and productivity.
- Prepare HR reports and provide management with insights on workforce trends.
- Work closely with department heads to identify staffing and organizational development needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of proven HR experience, preferably within financial services, banking, fintech, insurance, or a related industry.
- Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or HRCI is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian employment and labour regulations.
- Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong leadership and people-management abilities.
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity.
- Good analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR management systems.
