Job Summary:

A reputable restaurant in Wuse 2, Abuja is looking to hire a skilled and innovative Pastry Chef to lead its pastry section. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prepare a wide variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods.

  • Develop new dessert recipes and seasonal pastry menus.

  • Lead and manage the pastry team to ensure efficiency and quality control.

  • Ensure consistent taste, texture, and presentation of all pastry items.

  • Monitor ingredient inventory and assist with stock ordering as needed.

  • Oversee food preparation methods and uphold food safety and hygiene standards.

  • Coordinate with the executive chef and kitchen team on menu planning and event catering.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the pastry station and equipment.

  • Train and mentor junior pastry staff to uphold kitchen standards and support professional growth.

Requirements:

  • 4–7 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar senior pastry role in a reputable kitchen.

  • Mastery of classic and modern pastry techniques, including plated desserts and artisan confections.

  • Strong creativity and innovation in dessert presentation and flavor profiles.

  • Proven ability to manage and lead a pastry team effectively.

  • Excellent time-management, multitasking, and organizational skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of ingredient properties, baking science, and food safety regulations.

  • Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Culinary degree or professional pastry certification is a strong advantage.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working in a team.
